The photographs of pentaprisms that served as models for the paintings in the Lointain si proche (Distance, However Close) series were proposed to Google Images search engine, which each time supplied a set of so-called ‘similar’ images. It seems that the contents of images have no importance for information technology, images merely result from the translation of digital data by codes and algorithms that escape us; hence these strange accumulations of images that take the form of an absurd inventory.
