This work is based on photographic negatives from the Pentacon Archive of the TSD Museum in Dresden, showing prototypes of camera housings. The German word Zwischenzug refers to a chess tactic in which the player does not play the most expected move, but anticipates all the opponent's moves to interpose another move posing an immediate threat that changes the situation to his advantage.

This photograph shows different variants of a prototype camera housing seen from different angles and organized in a grid reminiscent of a chessboard. The title underlines the strategic nature of object design decisions, where all possibilities are thoroughly taken into consideration before the final decision is made.
