The presence of the Camera Obscura in this exhibition was intended to remind us of the founding principle of the camera - which is also the mechanism of image formation inside the human eye.

Here, the Camera Obscura allows the visitor to physically participate in the formation of an image, either as a source of the image, or as an observer. Confrontation with the appearance of a reversed image in real time allows him to become aware that the reality he knows is a construction by his brain.

The camera obscura acts within the course of the exhibition as a crossover point towards the last room in which photography will considered from a more phenomenological point of view.
